COMPARISON | Eye Shadow Pencils




I've tried quite a few different eye shadow pencils, crayons, smudge sticks, what ever you want to call them, and most of them are  from the drugstore. So here are my thoughts on the few I have and the ones I recommend and which ones I'd suggest leaving at the store.

Jordana 12 Hr Made To Last Eyeshadow Pencil




"Eternal White"


  • Pros: Very creamy, pigmented, blends easy, very inexpensive $3.99 at most Walgreens, 0.10 oz of product
  • Cons: Creases after application so you need to blend it out with your fingers, limited color selection (8 colors, but 4 are matte and neutral!), needs to be sharpened 
  • Rating: 4.0/5





NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil



"Iced Mocha"


  • Pros: Inexpensive $4.59 at nyx.com, Ulta and some Targets, wide range of colors from neutrals to bright colors, pigmented, 0.18 oz of product, doesn't crease
  • Cons: Tugs at the eye when applying, very dry and hard formula, packaging breaks easily, needs to be sharpened
  • Rating: 2.5/5






Maybelline Master Smoky Long Wearing Shadow Pencil




"Golden Fantasy"

  • Pros: Twist up applicator(Don't need to sharpen), doesn't crease, comes with a smudger
  • Cons: Tugs at the eye when applying, drier formula, only 0.018 oz of product, limited color selection (only 6 in permanent line) 
  • Rating: 3.0/5





Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Stick




"Bulletproof Beige"(Bottom), "Bad Girl Bronze (Top)


  • Pros: Very creamy, pigmented, easy to apply, doesn't crease, inexpensive about $4.49 at stores, 0.11 oz of product, color is opaque
  • Cons: Limited color selection (9 in permanent line), needs to be sharpened 
  • Rating: 4.5/5






NYX Glam Shadow Stick



"Amber Divine"(Top), "24 Karat"(Bottom)


  • Pros: Very pigmented, wide color selection (16 in permanent line), doesn't need to be sharpened, inexpensive $4.49 at nyx.com, and Ulta
  • Cons: CREASES!! within a couple of hours, Doesn't last on the eyes
  • Rating: 2.0/5






Palladio Shadow & Liner Herbal Crayon


  • Pros: Very pigmented, Extremely creamy, good color selection (12 in permanent line), easy to apply, doesn't crease, nice cooling sensation when applying to lid
  • Cons: Needs to be sharpened, messy to sharpen
  • Rating: 4.5/5
