Review: OPI "German-icure" + Swatches + Dupe

I recently picked up OPI's "German-icure" from the Fall 2012 Germany Collection at Ulta on clearance for 99 cents, it rang up at 50% off its $1.97 price tag! The full name of this polish is "German-icure by OPI" but for convenience I'll just call it "German-icure". Here is a quick review and comparison of this polish for you guys!

The packaging is the standard 0.50 fl oz glass bottle that OPI uses. While I did find mine on clearance at Ulta, and this collection did come out 2 years ago, it's possible to still find it at salons or other places OPI is old.

"German-icure" is a dark burgundy brown with a metallic finish. It has a very fine shimmer to the polish that gives it the metallic finish. This color is absolutely stunning in for the Fall, or year round if you love dark polishes. The finish is very shiny and reflects the light perfectly to enhance the metallic finish.

The formula of this polish is great! It's not too runny, thin, or too thick. It applies very smoothly to the nails. One coat is fairly opaque with just barely any streaks, but I recommend applying two coats for total opacity and full intensity.

The lasting power is very good with this shade. I painted my nails Friday night and haven't noticed any significant chipping due to the polish, just minor tip wear from my poor top coat. I find that most dark OPI colors have great lasting power.

This shade reminds me a lot of Sinful Color's "Mercury Rising". The color is the exact same burgundy shade and the same fine shimmer metallic finish. I'd say these two shades are exact dupes for one another. "Mercury Rising" has just the tiniest more glitter than "German-icure" but on the nails they are so identical you can't notice a difference. So if you can't find the OPI shade, Sinful Color's "Mercury Rising" retails for around $1.99 at Walgreens, Target, and Walmart and is available all year round.

If you can find this shade at Ulta, or other places that carry OPI, PICK IT UP! It's a beautiful shade for the upcoming fall and it looks stunning on the nails! Mine was on clearance for $1.97 at Ulta, but these polishes retail for around $9 normally.
