Review: Tata Harper Very Illuminating Cheek Tint

Tata Harper Very Illuminating Cheek Tint

Sephora is now carrying several new non-toxic and green beauty brands on their online store, including Tata Harper. This line features products that are made without synthetic or toxic ingredients. I recently received one of the cosmetic items within the line, the Very Illuminating Cheek Tint.

The Very Illuminating Cheek Tint retails for $40 (0.15 oz) and is available in-store and online at Sephora, the Tata Harper Website, and Citrine Natural Beauty Bar

Let's get in to the review!

Tata Harper claims:

"This pearlescent luminizer delivers brightening and highlighting effects for an overall dewy, healthy looking radiance. Its creamy formula goes on sheer, catching and reflecting light to brighten the look of the areas that the sun would naturally illuminate for a subtle, lit-from-within glow. This highlighter delivers lightweight hydration and promotes a smooth, plump look with neuropeptide technology."

The very illuminating Cheek Tint comes in one universal shade. The color is a light iridescent opal that leans pink. I'd recommend it for all skin tones.

As Tata Harper claims, the color goes on sheer but it can be built up slightly. There is no uneven pigmentation or patchiness, the color applies evenly across the skin. The texture is a very soft cream, much lighter and less stiff than the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured. I've applied this with a brush and with my fingers. I achieve the most even and natural looking application with my fingers.

The cream blends into the skin very nicely. It does not emphasize any uneven texture, pores, or fine lines on the face. I enjoyed the texture and formula of this product more so than the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured, which I found to be harder to blend.

When I applied this with a small concealer brush, the product built up in the brush and I had to keep going back for more product than was necessary. So overall, it's best applied with the fingers.

The packaging is a small open mouth glass jar. Not too heavy or bulky, so it would be perfect for travel or for on-the-go.

This wore well for about 8 hours before starting to break apart. I wore it over the top of foundation and set it with a powder highlighter. Keep in mind I do have oily skin, those with normal to dry skin will have a longer wear time.

This product gives a soft subtle glow to the face. Definitely not for someone who prefers a strong or intense highlight. It's perfect for adding a soft glow to the tops of the cheek bones if you like a natural makeup look. However, you can pair this with a powder highlighter for a more intense looking highlight.

Ingredients:

Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera(Coconut) Fruit Extract, Ricinus Communis(Castor), Seed Oil, Cera Alba/Beeswax/Cire D'abeille, Mica, Capylic/Capric Triglyceride,Mica, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Wax, Iron Oxides (C.I. 77891), Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Seed Oil, Plukenetia Volubilis, Palmitoyl Isoleucine, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Oil, Titanium Dioxide (C.I. 77891), Lavandula Stoechas (Spanish Lavendar) Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E).

Overall, this cream highlighter has a nice soft texture that applies easily to the skin and looks natural without being glittery or sparkly. The ingredients are nontoxic and healthy for the body. The only major issues are the high price tag, at $40 I would wait for the VIB sale, and the texture and consistency is a little too creamy for oily skin types. While the color is not intense or highly pigmented, it's perfect for those with normal to dry skin types that are looking for a natural looking and subtle highlight. For me personally, I do wish the color was more pigmented.
