Review: Pacifica Dream Big Lash Extending 7 in 1 Mascara
Pacifica Dream Big Lash Extending 7 in 1 Mascara |
Pacifica recently released their new mascara, the Dream Big Lash Extending 7 in 1 Mascara. I was very excited to try this as I've had great luck with Pacifica Mascaras in the past! This retails for $16 (0.25 oz) and is available online and in-store at Target, and the Pacifica Beauty Website.
As with all Pacifica products, this mascara is 100% Vegan, and Cruelty Free.
Let's get in to the review!
"This beauty is 7 in 1:
Lash Serum
Instant Length
Lash Lifting
Volumizing
Conditioning
Rich Color
2 in 1 Brush
Amplify your lashes instantly with all natural plant fibers that build and build and build... Clincally studied peptide has been shown to help improve natural lash length and volume. Natural ingredients help condition lashes."
The mascara comes in one color formula, "Black Magic", a standard non-waterproof black. The packaging is very cute, complete with bright blue and gold accents, and unicorns! Who doesn't love unicorns, am I right? It's a sturdy white plastic that I would not be afraid to throw in a purse or travel with.
The mascara brush is twistable, so you can adjust the length and the space between the bristles for added length or volume. The bristles are plastic and uniformly spaced around the brush.
The mascara brush isn't too big where it's difficult to apply product, or having to worry about getting the mascara all over your eyelid.
The actual formula is on the wet side, and it does take longer for this formula to dry on the lashes.
Despite the claim that there are "natural plant fibers", there is no added "fibers" that will transfer, clump, or irritate the eyes like traditional fiber mascaras (I'm talking to you Younique!)
My favorite way to apply this mascara is to extend the mascara wand to it's maximum length in order to achieve the most length for my lashes.
This mascara is very buildable. I did not have any problems with clumping or flaking after adding multiple layers of product. Throughout the day there was zero flaking, no transferring, and best of all, my lashes held a curl!
If you have short stubby eyelashes like I do, I recommend using the longest length of the mascara wand, and if you've been blessed with long lashes, twist the mascara wand to the shortest length to build up volume.
The overall look is a very "everyday" looking lash. Nothing too extreme like the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, but more intense than the Pacifica Aquarian Gaze Mascara. I'd say this mascara gives a similar appearance to the Benefit They're Real Mascara in that it gives excellent length and a little bit of lash definition.
Ingredients:
Aqua, glyceryl stearate se, jojoba esters, glycerin (vegetable), myristoyl pentapeptide-17, tapioca starch, stearic acid (vegetable), cellulose, phospholipids, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax), arabic/acacia gum, potassium cetyl phosphate, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, panthenol (vitamin b), gluconolactone, macrocystis pyifera (brown kelp) extract, hydrolyzed lupine protein, hydrolyzed oryza sativa (rice) protein, sodium benzoate. May contain: Iron oxides Cl77499.
Overall.
I can see this mascara working for so many people. It has an excellent formula that is buildable without looking clumpy, and looks perfect all day. If you need the length, you can achieve longer looking lashes, if you need volume, you can achieve more volume, if you need both, you can achieve a moderate look of both! Plus, the ingredients are clean! The only downside is that it isn't waterproof, so if that's something you require in a mascara, you're out of luck on this one, though I do find the formula to be transfer free. I highly recommend picking this up if you're in the market for a new everyday long-wearing mascara.
NEED IT!
