Zuzu Luxe Eyeshadow Pro Palette Refill Pan in "Hourglass"

Zuzu Luxe recently launched 40 shades of their Eyeshadow Pro Palette Refill Pans. Each pan retails for $11 (0.07 oz) and is available online through the Gabriel Cosmetics Website and in-stores where Zuzu Luxe is carried.

Zuzu Luxe is Cruelty-Free, Vegan, and does not contain any nasty or harmful ingredients!

If you would just like swatches, check them out HERE, otherwise, let's get in to the review!

Zuzu Luxe claims:

These easy to blend shades glide on smoothly and evenly for rich, long lasting color that will not crease or fade.

Packaging.

The eyeshadows are a refill pan, so they do not have any protective outer packaging. I personally love this! It reduces waste, and I can throw this in a Z-Palette with my other favorite eyeshadows to create a custom palette.

If you do not have a MAC or Z-Palette, Zuzu Luxe has their Pro Palette---an empty 4 pan palette---to fill with your eyeshadow refill pans.

Product.

"Hourglass" is light sand beige with a warm undertone and matte finish. This matte formula is perfect for anyone who does not want any sparkle or shine to their eyelids, particularly if you having aging skin.

On my fair skin, this color is just barely deeper than my skin tone. It is ideal for those with fair light skin tones as a blending shade. For those with medium to deep skin tones, this color would appear better as a highlight shade for the lid.

The texture of this shade is soft enough that it's easy to pick up product, but does not kick up a lot of powder like LORAC or NYX eyeshadows. This shade is not particularly pigmented, it takes several passes to achieve intense pigmentation.

The color is not patchy, uneven, or difficult to apply. I'd say the formula is most similar to the Too Faced Eyeshadows in their 9 Pan Palettes.

Performance.

As someone with very oily hooded eyelids, I have to wear an eyeshadow primer and base before applying any powder eyeshadow.

When worn with an eyeshadow primer, I experienced zero creasing or fading until about the 12 hour mark.

Unlike the Red Apple Lipstick eyeshadows, I had no problem getting this formula to stick to my eyelids or trouble blending it out.

Ingredients:

Mica, Cetyl Palmitate, Silica, Kaolin, Zinc Stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Lecithin, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract*, Tocopheryl Acetate, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide

Overall.

"Hourglass" is an excellent blending shade for those with fair to light skin tones. While the color is not a must-have, it does have a great formula that did not disappoint. If you're looking for single eyeshadows that are Cruelty-Free, Vegan---and have safe ingredients---I would highly recommend the Zuzu Luxe Eyeshadow Refill Pans! I can't wait to try more shades!
