Zuzu Luxe claims:

These easy to blend shades glide on smoothly and evenly for rich, long lasting color that will not crease or fade.

Packaging

The eyeshadows are a refill pan---there is no protective outer packaging. I personally love this! It reduces waste, and I can throw this into a Z-Palette with my other favorite eyeshadows to create a custom palette.

If you do not have a MAC or Z-Palette, Zuzu Luxe has their Pro Palette---an empty 4 pan palette---to fill with your eyeshadow refill pans.

Product

Echo is a golden taupe with metallic finish and cool undertone. This color would suit all skin tones. The color will be more intense for those with fair and deep skin tones.

As I stated in the swatch post, this color is the perfect blend of MAC Woodwinked and Satin Taupe. This color is very flattering for those with warm and olive complexions!

The color is not patchy or uneven and the pigmentation packs a solid punch of color. However, when applied to the eyelid, the pigmentation does sheer out slightly and I did notice that I had to apply a couple of swipes of color to achieve the most pigmentation.

The texture of this shade is soft to the touch with minimal fallout and kick-up in the pan. Unlike the issue I had with the metallic shades from Red Apple Lipstick in that they did not adhere to the skin, this shade applied easily to the eyelid and blended out without the color disappearing.

The formula of this eyeshadow is similar to that of the Too Faced 9 Eyeshadow Palettes.

Performance

As someone with very oily hooded eyelids, I have to wear an eyeshadow primer and base before applying any powder eyeshadow. Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Jordana 12 Hour Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil are the standard when I review any and all eyeshadows here.

When worn with an eyeshadow primer and base, I experienced minor creasing and slight fading at around the 10 hour mark.

This shade has better performance when paired with a cream shade base than worn solely with an eyeshadow primer---the color lasted longer, creased less and looked more vibrant at the end of the day.

Ingredients

Mica, Cetyl Palmitate, Silica, Kaolin, Zinc Stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Lecithin, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract*, Tocopheryl Acetate, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide

Overall

Echo applies nicely to the eyes and performs well without being patchy or wearing off throughout the day. The shades' formulation does kick up a little powder and can leave you with a tiny bit of fallout, but nothing major. For those with an olive or very warm skin tone, Echo will be very flattering to your skin tone! Definitely a terrific allover lid shade if you're looking to expand your neutrals!
