Review: Milani Moisture Matte Lipstick in "Matte Blissful"

I recently picked up a lipstick from the new Moisture Matte Lipstick line from Milani. These lipsticks retail for around $5.49 to $5.99 (0.14 oz) at select Walgreens and K-Mart locations, and the Milani Website.


With so many matte lipsticks available at the drugstore now, how does this one measure up? Let's get in to the review!



There are 8 shades available in the line. I picked up the shade "Matte Blissful". This shade is a light-medium baby pink with slight lavender tones.


This color is absolutely perfect for Spring and Summer paired with a winged liner! This color will probably suit fair to light skin tones best, it might look too ashy or gray on medium to deep skin tones.

As for the formula of this lipstick. While I find that most matte lipsticks to be drying, this lipstick feels very smooth and glides easily onto the lips. The lipstick has that silicone feel to it, which makes it glide on easily and stay on your lips without looking dry.


The color is pigmented, but not too pigmented that if you make a mistake the color won't come off. The pigmentation of this particular shade can be built up to a bright pink.


As for longevity, the color lasts about 5 hours before it starts to fade around the center of the lips. It does start to settle in fine lines as the day goes on.


If you're familiar with that watermelon scent Milani lipsticks are known for, don't worry, these lipsticks have a nice subtle vanilla scent. The smell doesn't linger, so if you're sensitive to fragrance, you won't have to worry about these lipsticks.


The packaging of this lipstick is gorgeous, as always. Milani lipsticks come in a beautiful gold tube with the color on the bottom. Easy to find any color when they're stored away in a drawer.

Overall, these lipsticks have excellent pigmentation, great staying power, and for being matte lipsticks, they glide on easily and don't leave your lips feeling or looking dry! Plus, they're paraben-free!
