|Flawless Post Wax & Shave Serum|
My review today is from the brand Whish. This line of premium body care is sold in-stores exclusively at Ulta and select spa locations. While it was on sale, I picked up the Flawless Post Wax & Shave Serum. This retails for $22.50 (1.1 oz) and is available in-store and online at Ulta and the Whish Website.
Whish offers high quality body care products that are made in the USA, paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free, and cruelty free. While not 100% organic, their products do offer a higher level of ingredients than your typical mass produced. body care products.
Let's get in to the review!
Whish claims this serum:
"...banishes the appearance of bumps and ingrown hair without harsh chemicals. Our Formula: Exfoliates and cleanses with willow bark extract and papaya extract, restores and smoothes with yeast extract and wheat germ extract, calms and soothes with organic aloe and organic cucumber extract."
The serum comes packaged in a airless pump plastic tube. So there's no wasting any product.
I would describe the formula to be a very thin, water like gel consistency. There's also a light pleasant scent to the serum. To apply, I would pump the product out onto my hand to avoid spills, and then blend into my legs. Two pumps was enough to cover one leg.
The serum blends so nicely into the skin. There's no sticky residue or layer that sits on top of the skin. I applied lotion on top of the serum immediately following and had no problem blending it in or having irritation.
So does it banish the appearance of bumps and ingrown hair?
Yes! It took several weeks, but after using this serum after every shower post shaving, I found that in the areas I applied the serum to, I have zero ingrown hairs, and it made the skin feel softer and smoother.
The serum does not irritate or burn on freshly waxed or shaved skin. It does feel very soothing and makes particularly dry skin feel hydrated.
They do say you can use this serum on the legs, underarms, and bikini region. I would recommend using this only for the legs and maybe the upper lip. Because the serum contains fragrance, a big no no, I would NOT recommend placing this anywhere near the bikini region or under arms.
Whish also claims this serum weakens hair follicles which inhibits future hair growth. I can't say I noticed any less hair growth after using this serum for months. Though the thickness of the hair follicles do appear to be less dense and lighter.
Overall, this serum helps reduce the appearance of bumps, redness, and gets rid of ingrown hairs all without harsh ingredients. If you're looking for a luxury item for yourself, or as a gift for someone else, the Whish line is a great way to introduce others to more natural body care products. The only negative about this product and Whish products is the added synthetic fragrance, which is why I would not recommend using this near the bikini region.
