Review: Honeybee Gardens Pressed Mineral Eye Shadow | Canterbury, Daredevil
Honeybee Gardens Pressed Mineral Eye Shadows |
Pressed single eyeshadow pans are hard to come by, particularly in the green beauty market, so you know I was excited to see that these PRESSED shadows are easily available at Ulta, and you can apply coupons to them!
Let's get in to the review!
Honeybee Gardens claims:
"(They're) Vegan, Gluten Free, Paraben Free. Highly pigmented powder. Applies evenly, blends well, crease-proof, soft-textured look that lasts all day. Free of petroleum-based oils, alcohol, talc, fillers, fragrances, preservatives and chemical dyes; enriched with botanicals and vitamins."
The pressed eyeshadows come in a magnetic metal pan without any extra packaging, which is ideal for throwing into your z-palette or MAC Palette. There is an eyeshadow quad compact available for sale if you wish to purchase one from Honeybee Gardens, but nothing in singular form.
There are 14 shades available. The majority are neutral tones, but they have several purple shades, a pop of blue, and a green shade. I chose "Canterbury", and "Daredevil". I hope they come out with more shades, 14 just isn't enough.
Canterbury is a matte light dusty brown mauve. Similar to MAC Quarry, but lighter. I love using this color as a transition and a crease color. Ideal for those with fair to medium skin tones.
Daredevil is a satin deep burgundy. In the pan, there is a visible sheen and small shimmer particles, but the color appears matte when applied to the eyes. Ideal for any skin tone.
Formula.
These shades in particular had excellent pigmentation. I did not have to worry about patchiness or unevenness. They applied easily to the skin without being too powdery or difficult to blend.
Canterbury does need to be blended out more than Daredevil.
The actual powder is soft to the touch, not as soft as the LORAC PRO Shadow formula, but soft enough to pick up the perfect amount of product. The product also isn't pressed too hard into the pan as to make picking product up with a brush difficult.
When applied over an eyeshadow primer, they lasted over 10 hours without creasing or fading. I have very oily eyelids, so not wearing a primer is not an option for me.
Ingredients:
Mica, Kaolin, Boron Nitride, Magnesium Carbonate, Zinc Stearate, Squalane, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Anthemis Nobilis Flow Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499), Ultramarines, Chromium Hydroxide Green (CI 77289), Chromium Oxide Greens (CI 77288), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Tin Oxide, Silica
Overall.
I absolutely love these eyeshadows! They have excellent pigmentation, are easy to blend, and last all day. I love that they come in a singular pan form so they're easy to store in a palette so they will actually be used. They're like MAC shadows in their quality, but with clean ingredients, and they're vegan for those that prefer a vegan formula.
