Let's get in to the reviews!

Red Apple Lipstick claims:

"All Red Apple eyeshadows are gluten free, paraben free, allergen free, cruelty free and vegan. Our mineral eyeshadows are made with the finest and purest ingredients and are non-comedogenic. Whether used wet or dry, our eyeshadows give you beautiful, long-lasting color that won’t fade or crease!"

Packaging.

The eyeshadows come in pan form with no outer packaging, so they're perfect to pop in your MAC or Z-Palette.

Formula.

There is no discernible scent or fragrance. Red Apple Lipstick touts these eyeshadows as having a non-irritating formula, so if you have highly sensitive skin, are acne prone, need gluten free, are allergic to talc, whatever your grievance, these will work for you.

I have not had any issues with the formula irritating my eyes or my skin upon application.

Longevity.

When worn with an eyeshadow primer underneath, there was only minimal fading after about 6 hours, and after about 8 hours, I did notice some creasing. I will note specifics under each shade below.

However, unlike the matte eyeshadow shades, I found I needed to use a cream base over a primer to get these shades to stick to the eyelid. These shades had less substance to them, and brushed away on the eyelid to nothing when blended out.

As I stated in the previous round of reviews, each shade performs differently, the formula is inconsistent across the line.

Buttercream

Buttercream

Buttercream

Buttercream is a light off-white ivory with a fine shimmer. The color is similar to MAC's Nylon, but less yellow and less pigmented.

This shade was the least pigmented eyeshadow I purchased. The texture of the powder is quite hard, which made picking up product difficult. And when I did apply the shade, the color was patchy and difficult to build up pigmentation.

I only use this shade to highlight the inner corner of the eye and the brow bone. It was too sheer to apply to the eyelid. The color starts to fade after about 6 hours.

Raven

Raven

Raven

Raven is a dark shimmery grey. The flecks of silver are less noticeable when applied to the eye, and the color appears more like a satin finish than a true shimmer.

This was the most pigmented color I purchased. The texture is very soft and silky, similar to the consistency of an Urban Decay Eyeshadow. I was able to pick up plenty of product and pigment with one swipe of a brush.

However, when applied to the eye, be careful, as this color is more prone to fallout. The powder is so soft that is tends to be quite powdery.

My biggest issue with this shade, while it is pigmented and soft, it was horrible when trying to blend it out and not lose the pigmentation. When I applied it over just an eyeshadow primer, it would not stick to the eyelid, the color would disappear as soon as I tried to blend it out.

Luckily, when I used a cream base on to of the eyeshadow primer, it performed much better. It was able to stick the eyelid and blend much easier. I don't appreciate having to bring in multiple products for an eyeshadow to perform properly.

Twinkle Taupe

Twinkle Taupe

Twinkle Taupe

Twinkle Taupe is a medium brown toned taupe with a slight shimmer. The color is lighter and warmer than MAC Satin Taupe, and less gold than MAC Woodwinked.

The consistency of the powder is similar to Raven, it is soft to the touch and easy to pick up product. Unlike Raven, which kicked up a lot of powder and was prone to fallout, I had no problems applying Twinkle Taupe to the eye. It stuck to the lid and did not lose it's pigmentation when blended out.

This shade is most similar to the formula of a MAC eyeshadow, soft and pigmented without the mess or the fallout.

Worn with a primer underneath, I was able to wear Twinkle Taupe for about 9 hours before starting to see wear and slight creasing.
