Review | Silk Naturals Highlight Powder in "Fluff"
Silk Naturals Highlight Powder in "Fluff" |
If you saw my latest Haul, I picked up quite a few products from Silk Naturals, including this Highlight Powder in "Fluff". This powder retails for $4.50 (0.75 tsp) and is available exclusively through the Silk Naturals Website.
Silk Naturals touts this shade as being a dupe for the new Anastasia Glow Palette shade in "Crushed Pearl". This item is vegan, and cruelty free.
Let's get in to the review!
"Fluff is a very light neutral pink with a hint of gold interference. You can use it on your eyes, lips- and it's especially wonderful on your cheeks. It's easy to wear, and just adds that little bit of a special glow.
Dare to compare this with Anastasia Beverly Hills Crushed Pearl from the Gleam Glow Kit. It's every bit as gorgeous, but made without silicones, binders, or preservatives."
Product
This color would best suite those with neutral to cool undertones, and those with light to medium skin tones. If you are the fairest of fair or deep skin tone, skip out on this shade. Because of the gold reflect, the base color ends up being slightly too dark for my skin tone. So if you have a skin tone that is any lighter than mine, go for a deeper shade.
I did not find this to be patchy or distribute unevenly across the skin. However, because of the more shimmery finish this shade has, it did tend to emphasize my enlarged pores.
Product
This highlight powder comes packaged in a plastic jar with a sifter. The powder is loose, so it's not ideal for travel. I prefer a pressed powder.
Something to note, the jar is VERY SMALL. You get very little product, but for $4.50, it's not a deal breaker. They say you will receive 3/4 teaspoon in the jar. The sifter made it difficult to get the product out of the jar.
"Fluff" is a light neutral pink with a gold reflect, and a highly shimmery finish. Unlike "Sunny", this Highlight Powder was more intense, had more color payoff, and was more shimmery. I applied two layers of product, and the effect was a high shine finish, very similar to the effect of the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed.

Despite that the powder contains no binders, it was very easy to apply with a finger and with a powder brush to apply on top of my cheekbones. I had no problems with building up the pigmentation of this shade.
"Fluff" wore well for 7 hours, after about 8 hours the color and finish started to fade. If you have dry skin, the wear time might be longer for you.
Unlike "Sunny", which required more product to build up the pigmentation, I did not need to pair this with a cream product to enhance longevity or pigmentation.
Ingredients:
Mica, Boron Nitride, Silica Also contains : Iron Oxides, Tin Oxide
Overall
"Fluff" is a gorgeous highlighter for anyone looking for an everyday and dramatic highlight. This color is ideal for those with a neutral or slightly cool undertone and light to medium complexion. The color builds up beautifully and does not look like a glitter bomb on the face. I would say the color is not a dupe for Anastasia Crushed Pearl, "Fluff" is more golden and deeper. The ingredients are fantastic, and for the price, you can't beat it!
