Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in "Verbena"

The Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks are the newest formula from Bite to hit the market, and so far, I have been enjoying the formula and the large color selection. The shade I have here today, "Verbena", is one of the lightest nude shades in the line.


The Amuse Bouche Lipsticks retail for $26 (0.15 oz), and are available exclusively in-store and online at Sephora. The Amuse Bouche formula is 98% Natural, Cruelty-Free, but is not Vegan.

Bite Beauty claims:

Packaging

The Bite Beauty Lipsticks come packaged in a hefty dark grey tube with the Bite Beauty logo at the base of the tube.


I absolutely adore their packaging. It's sturdy, doesn't cause my lipsticks to melt even in extreme heat, and simply---it's minimalistic, nothing extravagant or crazy, which I love.



Product


"Verbena" is a light terracotta pinky nude. The color is warm in tone.

These lipsticks feature a luminous creme finish. The finish does not dry down or lose it's sheen throughout the day.


The lipsticks do have a non-artificial, sweet fruity scent.


The consistency of this shade is not as even as the deeper shades within the Amuse Bouche line. The color needed to be built up with several layers, and the color did appear slightly patchy and uneven.


It applies easily to the lips. The color does not drag or cling to dry patches. It is a very moisturizing and hydrating formula.

Performance


Due to the thinner consistency and formula of this shade, it's longevity on the lips was sub par. It wore well for 2 hours before fading noticeably on the center of the lips, with and without a lip primer.


Much like the shade "Pepper", throughout the day the color started to bunch up into small bits on the lips, the result was a crumbly looking mess.


The color was easy to re-apply without looking streaky or uneven, but needing to reapply my lipstick every hour or so is not realistic when you don't always have the time or patience to do so. The texture was also bitty and thick when re-applied.

Overall


Verbena is nice everyday color that would suit most skin tones. The formula doesn't feel drying and offers moisture and hydration to the lips. However, the shade is thin in terms of consistency and does not last long on the lips before looking uneven and patchy. The color becomes crumbly and creates small bits of product that build up on the lips---definitely not cute.
