Review // cocokind Postbiotic Acne Serum
"Treat acne, blackheads, and clogged pores effectively yet gently. This serum is powered by 1.5% salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid that works on the skin's surface to slough off dead skin and within pores to clear congestion."
The cocokind Postbiotic Acne Serum retails for $19.99 (1 oz) and is available on the Cocokind Website*, in-store and online at Ulta, Target, and Whole Foods.
The Postbiotic Acne Serum has a semi-translucent, lightweight jelly-like formula with a slightly sweet smell. The smell reminds me of the Green Apple line from Juicy Beauty. About two-three drops of the serum is all you need to properly cover your face.
The consistency is thin, slightly tacky, but blends well into the skin. Once fully rubbed in, there is a slight tacky feeling on the skin and appears slightly dewy. I recommend applying the serum over clean skin and avoid spreading it around broken areas of the skin (open acne spots).
The Postbiotic Acne Serum comes packaged in a completely recyclable glass dropper that is coated white to prevent light from oxidizing the formula.
After applying the Postbiotic Acne Serum daily, my pores did appear to be less congested and I would have fewer random breakouts around my nose and cheeks where my pores are the most congested. It does not help to immediately decrease the size of any existing acne.
This product can be applied both day and night and also in combination with other serums and ingredients including vitamin c and lactic acid. I love to layer this serum with the cocokind Ceramide Barrier serum for daily use for the ultimate combination of acne prevention and hydration.
I would recommend the Postbiotic Acne Serum for anyone who has mild to moderate acne or congested skin. I pair this serum with the Paula's Choice BHA Toner and the OSEA Acne Balm for optimal results.
This product alone will not prevent reoccurring acne, always make sure to cleanse in the morning and at night with an effective cleanser, top with a serum that contains either salicylic acne or niacinamide, and make sure your moisturizer is lightweight and not overly moisturizing to avoid clogging your pores.
Always wait for a sale when purchasing cocokind. They are included in the Whole Foods 25% Beauty Sale and are frequently 20-35% off during sales at Ulta Beauty. Cocokind will be 25% off during Ulta's upcoming Black Friday sale and hopefully during Cyber Monday as well.
