Favorite Long-Wearing Eyeliners

For the longest time I was constantly trying to find an eyeliner that would not run and transfer on my face. My eyelids are very oily so almost every eyeliner I tried would transfer and need touch ups during the day.

Here are a few eyeliners I have that do not run down my face or transfer. If you have bad allergies, oily eyelids, or just have very long days and don't want to fuss with fixing up your makeup, check these out!

Also, none of these eyeliners irritate my eyes.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eye Liner Trio

These liners from Physicians Formula come in a set of 3 retractable crayon eyeliners. They are all a shimmer or metallic finish, sorry, no matte finishes. These liners are creamy but not too creamy that they transfer. They are best used for the lower lash line, they're not creamy enough for the water line. This trio is available in multiple colors, so there is a color for just about everyone who wants a deep black to a purple or green. The trio retails for around $11.99 at Ulta and other mass retailers. 

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eyeliners

Ulta Gel Eye Liner Pencil

Don't let the gel name fool you, these liners from the Ulta brand are not like a traditional pot gel liner. These liners are very similar in texture and formula to the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils. These liners are creamier than the Physicians Formula liners and more pigmented. These are perfect for adding a pop of color to the upper or lower lash line, and to your water line. Despite being very creamy and smooth, they last all day and do not transfer or bleed. Ulta Gel Eye Liner 

IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner

For my most long-lasting eyeliner, the IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner is it! These liners are creamier than the Physicians Formula, not but as creamy as the Ulta Gel liners or the Urban Decay liners. That being said, these apply very smooth the eye and you could use these on both the upper and lower lash line. These liners do NOT move or budge at all! They will last all day and into the 2nd day if you didn't remove your eye makeup. If you need an eyeliner to last you all day and not worry about transfer or smudging, get this! These liners are available in 10 shades and retail for $22 each at Ulta.

IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner

This gel eyeliner from Tarte is now called the Clay Pot Waterproof Liner, it is the same formula but different name and packaging. The picture below is the old style of packaging. This gel liner is smooth and creamier than other gel liners I've used such as the Maybelline and Ulta brand. It's perfect for applying to the waterline and the upper and lower lash line. It stays put all day without fading in the waterline and performs even better when set with a powder. It is available in 4 shades. This retails for $21 at Ulta, Sephora, and the Tarte Website. 

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner

MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner

This last eyeliner is the only liquid liner in the group. The MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner is a very liquidy formula and the product is distributed with a felt tip. I have tried only a few liquid liners, but this one is by far the most long-wearing. If I'm having a really watery eye day, I use this. Even if you have watery eyes, this will stay put. The only draw back is that at the end of the day it will be difficult to get off, but when you need a long-wearing liquid liner, this one is going to be your best option. It's only available in two shades, black and brown. The one I have here is purple. I have had it for many years, and it's still good! This retails for $20 on the MAC Website and MAC counter locations.
