Review: Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in "Brandy"

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in "Brandy"

While at Sephora, I picked up a second Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon, because when you love a certain formula you must pick up like every shade right?? These retail for $24 (0.05 oz) in-store and online at Sephora.

Being that Fall is coming up shortly, I picked up the shade "Brandy".

Bite Beauty is known for their natural and food grade ingredients they use in their lip products, the Matte Creme Lip Crayons are 96% natural and are a much less toxic option while still being pigmented and long-wearing.

So let's get in to the review!

The Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayons come in a sturdy velvety dark grey tube. Each pencil is retractable, so there's no need to sharpen it.

There are 12 shades in the permanent line.

Brandy is a medium red raspberry color. The color is slightly darker and more berry than the Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in "Sucre". Full review of "Sucre" HERE.

Bite Beauty claims that the Matte Creme Lip Crayons:

"...boasts a collection of beautiful nudes, striking reds, and deep burgundies with a matte yet moist texture. The secret is the moisture-locking power of orange peel wax along with the antioxidant properties of resveratrol. The colors are water-resistent, and long wearing."

The color does have a shiny finish when first applied to the lips, but it does dry down to a natural finish. It does not appear to look like dry or flat matte, just a natural cream finish.

The formula of this shade is creamy, it glides on easily to the lips and doesn't take much pressure to get the color to 100% opacity. Because they are so creamy, be aware you will use up the product faster than other lip products.

Despite the lip crayon being so creamy, it has amazing staying power! On it's own, I found this color lasted 6 and a half hours before starting to fade on the center of my lips. With a lip liner, the color stayed put for over 8 hours before fading towards the center of my lips.

This color even lasted completely on my lips even while eating and drinking, with very little transfer. So as far as being water-resistant, I agree! While not completely waterproof, they stay on very well.

The lip crayons do have a slight fragrance to them, to me it smells like a fruit gummy. The scent stays around for a little while but it's not overpowering.

The formula of these lip crayons feel very hydrating and even though they are a matte formula, they actually moisturize the lips and keep them from feeling dry. They do not look like a flat matte on the lips, more like a natural creme finish, similar to the Jordana Modern Matte Lipsticks available at the drugstore.

The only downside to them is that when the color starts to fade and you have to re-apply the color, it can be heavy and cakey on the lips, so be sure to take off the existing product on the lips before you re-apply.

"Brandy" with IT Cosmetics "Pretty In Pink" Lip Liner

Overall, these lip crayons are very pigmented, creamy, long-wearing, and have amazing ingredients! I think everyone will love this formula, it's hydrating and the finish is universally flattering! This shade will flatter every skin tone and is perfect for the Fall! If you're looking for a new lip formula to try, go to your nearest Sephora and try these out, you won't be disappointed!

NEED IT!
