Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon |
I recently picked up one of the deluxe trial sizes of the Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon's in the shade "Gavi". These "Mix N' Mingle Lip Minis" are available in-store and online at Sephora for $12 (0.031 oz).
The full size of the Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayons are available in-store and online at Sephora retail for $24 (0.05 oz) and come in 12 shades, from nudes to deep berries.
As with all Bite Beauty lip products, this lip crayon is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates, and "free of polybutenes, sulfates, and petroleum byproducts....is certified gluten-free and made with food-grade ingredients."
So how does these lip crayons measure up to other high end lip products? Let's get in to the review!

The Matte Creme Lip Crayons come in a dark grey pencil tube that twists up, so there is no need to sharpen. They do have a slight scent to them, it smells like some sort of fruit gummy, I like it. The smell does linger on the lips.
The formula of these Lip Crayons claim to be waterproof and long wearing.
The first thing I noticed about the formula of these lip crayons are how creamy they are. They are very soft to the touch, so much so that I found I used up a lot of product after one application. However, they do glide on very easy to the lips, the color is very opaque and it's easy to trace around the lip line, so you don't need to worry if you get a dark color about the application being difficult.
As far as being long wearing, I found that on it's own, without a lip liner, I had about 4 hours of wear before the color started to fade towards the center of my lips. With a lip liner I found that this lasted about 6 hours on my lips before the color started to fade, also around the center of my lips.
With a lip liner, the color does last through moderate levels of drinking and eating, probably not if you're eating pasta and wiping your mouth constantly.
The finish of the lipstick is more of a satin matte. It definitely is NOT a drying matte finish or texture. It does have less shine and more opacity than the Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipsticks (Full Review HERE).
The formula and the finish remind me a lot of the Jordana Modern Matte Lipsticks. They're both creamy, a satin matte finish, and very comfortable to wear on the lips.
Overall, these lip crayons have excellent pigmentation, are easy to wear, wear time is pretty good, the ingredients are top notch and non-toxic, and the finish is the perfect combination of matte and satin. I think just about everyone would love these lip crayons. The only downside is that they can be a little too creamy and end up using a lot of product.
NEED IT!
